Energy infrastructure under attack in Ukraine
Ukraine's power facilities have come under escalating strikes in the past few days

Throughout the evening, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have led to blackouts in multiple districts of the capital city, Kyiv.

Several individuals were wounded while residents in eastern districts were left without electricity and encountered problems to water systems, per reports from municipal leaders.

At the same time, a seven-year-old child was fatally injured in a different assault in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southern area, according to local officials.

Russian forces has intensified assaults on energy facilities over recent weeks, while officials has demanded "real steps" from partner nations to apply pressure on Russia.

"What is required is not window dressing but decisive action - from the United States, the EU and the Group of Seven - in delivering protection systems and enforcing sanctions," was stated in a online statement.

Officials stated that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and several dozen missiles struck the country's power systems, labeling such assaults as "strategic and deliberate" and against "critical infrastructure" as winter approaches.

Government representatives said Russia was "conducting extensive attacks" and maintenance teams were striving to repair systems.

A wave of strikes struck energy infrastructure and civilian homes in the capital.

All of Ukraine is on alert for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are more difficult to identify.

National leaders told reporters that Moscow was purposely seeking to destroy the national power system, with strikes already disrupting energy systems.

Officials stated technical personnel and authorities were preparing for more assaults.
